Overview


B.Sc. IT department has been started since the academic year 2008-09. It is a 3 years full time course. Each year is divided into 2 semesters. The course consists of 30 modules comprising 29 papers and one project in the VIth Semester.



 

Objectives:

Develops skills in data handling and quantitative techniques
 
To provide reliable, contemporary, and integrated technology training to support and facilitate teaching, learning, and research.
   
To foster an open, collaborative, and unifying culture through Information technology.

Importance:
After Bsc-IT, you can study further or you can get job in MNC or IT companies.

Study:
You have different options for Master Degree after Bsc IT(Graduation).

MCA
MBA
MS etc...

Job:


Many IT companies are providing jobs for BSc IT graduates. Job scope in IT sector is very wide right from computer hardware and networking to softwares. There are several other sectors too like Telecommunication, Office Automation, etc in which you would find requirement of IT. With B.SC IT degree in your hand you can look for entry level jobs in these sectors.



 

Different IT Job Profiles are:
The basic job titles one sees for IT-related positions include Software Engineer / Programmer
Developer (.NET / JAVA / C++ etc...)

Eligibility

A candidate for being eligible for admission to the Degree Course Bachelor of Science (Information Technology) Degree Course shall have passed XIIth Standard. Examination of the Maharashtra Board of Higher Secondary Education or its equivalent examination with Mathematics and Statistics as one of the subjects and should have secured not less than 45% marks in aggregate and 40% marks in aggregate in case of reserved category candidates.
 
Candidate who have passed Diploma (Three Year after S.S.C. Xth standard) in Information Technology / Computer Technology / Computer Engineering / Computer Science / Electrical, Electronics and Video Engineering and Civil & Allied Branches of are eligible for direct admission to the Second Year of the B.Sc.(I.T.) degree college.
   
 
  However, the Diploma should be recognised by the Board of Technical Education or any other recognised Government Body. Minimum marks required 45% aggregate for open category candidates and 40% aggregate for reserved category candidates.

  Candidate with post HSC-Diploma in Information Technology / Computer Technology / Computer Engineering / Computer Science and Allied branches will be eligible for direct admission to the Second Year of B.Sc.(I.T.)

B.Sc. (INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY)
   
No entrance test will be conducted.
 

Admission will be on merit, based on the order of preference as follows:

Marks in Mathematics and Statistics at H.S.C. or equivalent
   
Aggregate Marks at HSC (Std. XII) or equivalent
   
Aggregate marks at S.S.C. (Std. X)
