Happy to share that Our student Samvit Mavinkurve from AS has won in 2 Story Mirror contests in the month of November 2020. In the first contest called "Thank You Teacher", the poem is dedicated to his most adorable teachers which won the 3rd position out of the top 3 English poems dedicated to the theme of Teacher's Day. In the second contest, named "Writepad" which was only open for high school and college students, his poem, titled " The Divine Sun" won the 1st position among the top 5 poems under the category of Grade 9 to 12.
Sharanyaa Nair from IBDP 2,was selected to be a student interactor for the Youth Impact And Inclusion Summit (YIOS) organized by orion square and UN volunteers India. She was one of the winners of the YIOS twitter-chat competitions. The programme brought together domain experts, international thought leaders and the youth to discuss and learn and understand diversity and Inclusion better.
We are delighted to share that our student Ms Ifrah Choudhary has received the Cambridge Outstanding Learner Award in the category High Achievement for History at AS level in the Cambridge November 2019 series.We are very proud of Ifrah and congratulate her on her stupendous achievement. We wish her even greater success in her further endeavours. We also commend the efforts of Ifrah's teachers who have been instrumental in her success.
We are proud to announce that our school has been ranked among the top five schools in Zone C offering the International curriculum according to the Times School Survey 2020. We thank our Management, faculty, students and parents for their continuous efforts and support that has enabled us to achieve this ranking.
Despite the lockdown our youth leaders were seen fighting the COVID challenge and were able to transition the platform on a virtual mode. The S M Shetty International School Model United Nations (SMSISMUN) held on 12th& 13th of September,2020 was a mission successfully led by a team of students, truly showcasing student empowerment in the face of a global crisis .The conference brought together 48 students from school, college and university to recreate: United Nations Security Council (HUNSC), World Health Organisation (WHO), Lok Sabha, Fédération Internationale de Football Association (FIFA), Social Impact The conference officially opened with speeches from The Secretary General, Rachit Mehta and Director General, Adrian John and the Principal Ms. Mildred Lobo. Bunts Sangha’s S M Shetty International School and Junior College had their very first, exclusive Annual day celebration on 4th of December 2019 especially for the students of CP I and CP II.The students performed on the Disney Classic Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs.
We are delighted to share that our IEYC Coordinator, Ms. Madhuban Ghosh has been selected as a member of the Curriculum Steering Committee by Fieldwork Education, UK. She is also a Trainer for International Early Years Curriculum. We are very proud of her achievements and wish her the very best.
We are proud to announce that our school counseling center has been awarded the best practice award CoMHA ,the Making Quality Happen Trophy (Education Category) by Indian Merchant Chambers (IMC) Ramkrishna Bajaj National Quality Award (RBNQA) on 23rd June 2020.
Our project "The Gender Benders" in the GSL Global Goals has been selected to receive a commendation in the category of Junior Standout. Our students have now been nominated to the semi-final category and we are proud of our team and teachers, who engaged the students actively in this project.
The school held the second Eumind exchange program from 19th January to 25th January, 2020.
Annual Sports Day was held on 25th January 2020.
An Astronomy camp was organized by ‘Central Adventures’ on 4th and 5th January 2020 The prime objective was to identify various objects in the sky and view them through powerful telescopes.
